Q&A – Insights & Reflections from Fine Art Models & René

Q1: I’ve never done a Fine Art shoot before — what should I expect?

That’s completely fine - most of the people you see in my portfolio once said the same thing.

A Fine Art session isn’t about posing or performance.

It’s a calm collaboration - a shared space where trust, emotion, and light meet.

You’ll be guided gently, never forced.

It’s not about doing something right, but about being real.

“At first, I thought I had to look perfect. But René helped me realise that beauty begins when you stop trying.” – Johanna. (Model)

Q2: How should I prepare before the session?

There’s no need for perfection - authenticity is the best preparation.

A few small things help:

  • Sleep well, eat lightly, drink enough water.

  • Bring clothes or fabrics you feel good in, not just what looks good.

  • Avoid tight clothing right before the shoot the skin remembers.

  • No need for heavy makeup; natural tones work best with Fine Art lighting.

“Bring something that feels like you - the camera senses honesty.” – Melissa. (Model)

Q3: What if I feel nervous or unsure during the session?

That’s absolutely normal - and you’re not the only one.

I (René) still feel a bit nervous before almost every session too.

Sometimes the light isn’t right, the mood is off, or my ideas don’t come together immediately.

That’s part of the process - it’s what makes every shoot human and alive.

We both have moments of hesitation.

And sometimes, it’s exactly those moments that lead to the most beautiful and unexpected images.

“My favourite photo came from the moment I stopped pretending to be someone different.” – Fina (Model)

“And for me, that same moment was when I realised — vulnerability is light in disguise.” – René

Q4: What makes a Fine Art photo truly beautiful?

It’s not about symmetry, nor perfection.

It’s about truth - that quiet second where a real feeling passes between two people and the light.

Sometimes everything works. Sometimes, it doesn’t.

And that’s okay - because Fine Art isn’t about success, it’s about honesty.

“Some days, I take 200 photos and only keep two. But if those two feel true, they’re worth all the rest.” - René

Q5: What if I don’t think I’m photogenic?

You’re not alone.

Most people, including me, have a complicated relationship with how they look in photos.

But Fine Art photography isn’t about seeing yourself how you think you should be - it’s about seeing yourself how you are, maybe even how you’ve never noticed before.

“I used to hide from cameras. After my first session, I realised I just needed the right kind of silence.” – Elena (Model)

Q6: Can I bring my own ideas or references?

Please do.

Fine Art photography grows best when it becomes a dialogue, not a direction.

Bring your inspirations, moods, or emotions - even fragments of ideas.

We’ll explore them together, intuitively.

“The best sessions are like music - improvised, with space to breathe.” – René

Q7: What should I wear or bring?

Bring what makes you feel comfortable, grounded, or inspired.

Soft fabrics - linen, silk, cotton - always work well. If you like wearing lingerie, that's fine too, but it's not a must.

If we explore boudoir or artistic nude, that happens slowly, naturally, and only if it feels right to you.

Optional things to bring:

  • A robe or scarf for in-between moments

  • A playlist you love

  • Water or tea

  • An open mind, and no expectations

“It’s not what you wear - it’s how at ease you feel in it.” – Clare (Model)

Q8: What if the photos don’t turn out the way we expect?

That happens - to everyone!

Sometimes the mood, the weather, or the light simply takes a different path.

No one’s to blame.

Those sessions still matter, because they remind us that art isn’t a result, it’s an experience.

“Even when the images don’t work, the time shared always does.” – René

Q9: How do I handle self-doubt afterwards?

It’s natural to wonder, “Will I like what I see?” - almost everyone does.

But what you’ll see isn’t judgment, it’s presence.

You’ll recognise parts of yourself that others already see, even if you don’t.

“For the first time, I saw myself as someone else might - calm, strong, and real.” – Nicole(Model)

“And I saw the quiet strength that appears when someone dares to be honest.” – René

Q10: Any final advice from René and the models?

Take your time.

Don’t rush.

Don’t compare yourself.

Art unfolds in its own rhythm.

If something feels right, it usually is.

If not, we pause.

It’s that simple.

“Fine Art photography isn’t about being perfect - it’s about being present.” – Diana(Model)

„And even as a photographer, I learn something new about trust every single time -especially when someone chooses to share their full trust, to open up, and to explore the quiet, graceful world of Those Art Nude photography. Those moments remind me that vulnerability, when met with respect, becomes something profoundly beautiful.” – René
